RECIPES

Xylitol can be used in place of sugar in any recipe that doesn’t require the sugar to break down into liquid form – it is impossible for Xylitol to caramelise even at an extremely high temperature and cooked at length. It is particularly good in cakes and bakes, sprinkled on cereal or used in tea or coffee.

OUR STORY

Two old school friends started the Sweet Nothings business in Cape Town in 2006 due to one of them suffering health problems. They spent weeks and months researching what could be done to alleviate her condition. This was when they discovered the many health benefits of Xylitol. It could help support her recovery and address diabetic problems of other friends. Best of all, it was an alternative to both sugar and artificial sweeteners.

The friends were the first people to import and retail Xylitol in South Africa. There and then, they decided that they would always make sure that quality and health were their top priorities, and that there would be no compromise with the product that would become known as Sweet Nothings.
